My name is Krissy Long, I am 32 years old. When I was 23 I met my abuser and moved in with him. The abused started right away but I did not leave. When I was 25 in the midst of trying to leave him, he beat me so badly he nearly killed me. I had a traumatic brain injury, a broken nose, a sprained wrist and it took the ER doctor an hour and a half to stitch me back up. I was beat to the point that I was unrecognizable to my closest friends and family. Today almost 8 years later, I am in a healthy marriage with three beautiful children. I still have ptsd and struggle on a daily basis with the abuse I have endured.
